2. Who this policy covers

This policy covers the cliiip marketing website and the cliiip macOS app.

3. Clipboard content in the macOS app

cliiip is designed as an offline-first clipboard history app. Clipboard content is processed on your Mac for history, search, redaction, quarantine, previews, quick actions, and optional encrypted persistence.

• We do not receive your clipboard history.
• We do not run cloud analysis on clipboard content.
• We do not sync clipboard content to a cliiip account.
• Encrypted history import and export files are created and read locally on your Mac.

4. App data stored locally

The app may store local data needed to operate features you enable, including:

• Clipboard history and quarantine items, subject to your retention settings.
• Pinned clips, duplicate counts, source app metadata, and timestamps.
• Settings for recording, sensitive mode, auto-clear, paste-directly, theme, language, and accessibility.
• Redaction settings, custom redaction rules, app profiles, blacklist entries, and hotkey preferences.
• Encrypted persistence data if you turn encrypted persistence on.

Rich clipboard capture can store image data and file references or bookmarks locally. File references may stop working if the original file is moved, deleted, or becomes unreadable; cliiip should not be treated as a durable backup of copied files.

You can clear history, quarantine, and persisted local history from inside the app. You can also export selected settings and history with a passphrase.

5. Website data we collect

The website does not use analytics, telemetry, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking. The website does not include public submission forms and does not keep form submissions or optional contact details through this site.

The website is hosted online and the app may be distributed through platform channels. We do not sell personal data.

8. Retention

• Local app history is retained only on your Mac according to the settings you choose in the app.
• The website does not keep analytics, telemetry, advertising, tracking, form submission, or optional contact-detail records.
• If website collection or retention changes, this policy will be updated before that processing begins.

9. Your choices

• Turn clipboard recording on or off in Settings.
• Use the blacklist or app profiles to stop or change capture for specific apps.
• Disable encrypted persistence, clear persisted data, or clear history from the app.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you. To make a request, use privacy@humane-ai.co.uk.

The app's local clipboard history is controlled on your Mac. We cannot access or delete local app data for you because we do not receive it.

If UK data protection law applies, you may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. If EU data protection law applies to your use, you may have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or telemetry.

We may update this policy as cliiip changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
